Prerna Arora

Dr. Prerna Arora, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who specializes in the delivery of evidence-based treatments for children and families. Dr. Arora has expertise in the treatment of depressive disorders and other mood disorders; anxiety disorders, including social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, panic disorders, and OCD; and behavioral disorders, including ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder. She works collaboratively with families, schools, and other providers to provide developmentally appropriate and personalized care for youth. In addition to treating children and families, Dr. Arora also consults with schools and primary care professionals regarding their mental health practices.

Dr. Arora obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, where she received extensive training in cognitive-behavioral therapy with children and families. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and her postdoctoral training at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she obtained world-class training in child clinical and school-based mental health. Dr. Arora is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University where she teaches graduate students in child clinical and school psychology. Dr. Arora has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles, chapters, and treatment manuals and is a leading expert in the treatment of depression and anxiety in youth, school-based mental health, and culturally-tailored treatments.
